Dancing Through Cancer Viral Video

Today you can also find me on Gems Of Delight. When You Allow Yourself To Feel You Allow Yourself To Heal.

It is so important to find a way to empower ourselves when an event, loss, or diagnosis attempts to disempower us. Listen. Things we have no control over, don’t have to control us. WE have the power to let them control us or not. We always have control over our response to life. And that makes all of the difference to our spiritual, emotional, and physical well being.

Today, I am so happy to share with you, Dancing Through Cancer, the inspirational video of a friend of mine, Tiffany Staropoli dancing to express her feelings after being diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer on May 7 of this year. (Videoed by her husband Rick Staropoli and edited by Rob McGowan.)

This video has gone viral this week and has captured the attention of the local news and I heard was even posted on Ellen’s Facebook page! Enjoy!

I love the parts where she breaks into laughter. (I think I have personally watched it 10 times, going on 11) Enjoy!

Thanks, Tiffany, for sharing your dirty little secret with us. Because we all have that secret joie de vivre that we lock inside for some  silly reason, like we might look awkward. You, by the way, look great in every scene!

You inspire us to transform worry by choosing to live with purpose. Thank you so much! And I agree, Tiffany, laughter is the best medicine! Keep laughing, keep dancing, keep loving.  Keep inspiring.

Tiffany is full on living. It fills me with love and hope.

(Here are her nieces and nephews responding in tribute to their aunt. So cute. Don’t Stop Believing.)

Transforming what is unbearable to enjoyable really knocks your socks off, heh? I have danced away my negative feelings and have found it works incredibly well. Did you ever empower yourself by dancing? How else do you empower yourself when things try to get you down?

Hi Jodi,

Inspiring indeed 🙂

Yes, it’s not easy to dance away your blues, especially when you know that you have stage 4 of cancer, and yet you do it – amazing! Music IS known to be theraputic and this proves it in a way I think, and she might be finding courage in it, and spreading the light to others in a similar situation. God Bless her.

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead 🙂

I love this. My husband lost two relatives this year to cancer and I’ve lost one. We need some positives.

Through her, we are all spreading it! <3

As a fellow goofy dancer, I loved Tiffany’s video and general make-the-cancer-wither approach. Go, Tiffany!! And another really good resource for blanketing that sucker in love is Peggy Huddleston’s book and CD, “Prepare for Surgery, Heal Faster.” Parts of it are very specific to cancer.
