Watch the Find Your Inner Guidance Video
Dear One,
I appreciate you watching my Inner Compass training video. It makes me curious about what is happening in your life that made you click on it. If what is going on is not good, I hope you know that things don’t stay the same. That means things can change for the better, and your trust in yourself has a big influence on that.
When you build trust in yourself, you grow your skills in influencing your life and relationships. That means you have the confidence to take control of your life instead of feeling worthless, powerless, and out of control.
There are so many things going on in our lives and in the world right now. Two things—community and guidance—are necessary for sustenance on the journey.
Community:
Independence is overrated. It leads to isolation and stuckness. In isolation, we lose both support and our sense of ourselves, which can get us stuck in negative thinking. Nobody has time for those things.
Guidance:
Life is short, and you don’t want to waste another minute of suffering. You can teach yourself how to feel better or get some guidance from someone who’s learned the way.
I started my new talk show, Live with Dr. Jodi because of the community and guidance it offers to listeners/viewers. I’ll be live-streaming Mondays at 8 p.m. E, and the recordings of each episode will be posted on my YouTube channel @doctorjodi.
The Live talk show’s mission is to help Generation Z:

More on How to Find Your Inner Compass
Finding your inner compass involves identifying and aligning with your core values, passions, and sense of purpose. It helps you navigate life’s choices with confidence and authenticity. Here are some steps to help you find your inner compass:
1. Self-Reflection
- Journaling: Write about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Reflect on what makes you happy, what frustrates you, and what you’re passionate about.
- Meditation: Spend quiet time each day to clear your mind and tune into your inner thoughts.
2. Identify Your Values
- List Your Core Values: Write down the values that are most important to you (e.g., honesty, compassion, creativity).
- Prioritize Them: Rank these values to see which are non-negotiable and which are flexible.
3. Discover Your Passions
- Explore Interests: Engage in various activities to see what excites and energizes you.
- Reflect on Joy: Think about the moments when you felt the most joy and fulfillment. What were you doing?
4. Set Goals and Priorities
- Short-term Goals: Define what you want to achieve in the near future that aligns with your values and passions.
- Long-term Vision: Envision where you want to be in 5, 10, or 20 years.
5. Seek Feedback
- Talk to Trusted Friends and Mentors: Get their perspective on your strengths and passions. They can often see things you might miss.
- Self-Assessment Tools: Use personality and career assessments to gain insights into your strengths and areas of interest.
6. Align Your Actions
- Make Decisions Based on Values: When faced with choices, ask yourself if they align with your core values and long-term goals.
- Live Authentically: Ensure your daily actions and decisions reflect your true self.
7. Embrace Change and Growth
- Be Open to New Experiences: Sometimes, your inner compass points you in a new direction as you grow and change.
- Continuous Learning: Keep exploring and learning to refine your understanding of yourself.
8. Practice Gratitude and Mindfulness
- Gratitude Journals: Regularly note what you are thankful for to stay positive and focused on what matters.
- Mindfulness Practices: Engage in mindfulness exercises to stay present and connected with your inner self.
9. Stay Resilient
- Adapt to Challenges: View obstacles as opportunities for growth rather than setbacks.
- Maintain a Positive Mindset: Cultivate resilience by focusing on solutions and learning from experiences.
By following these steps, you can develop a strong inner compass that guides you towards a fulfilling and authentic life.
let’s start by finding the one that points to ‘stop procrastinating’ and ‘don’t eat that entire pizza.’ Seriously though, we all have that little voice inside us, guiding us like a GPS (even if it sometimes says ‘recalculating’ when we make questionable decisions). Reconnecting with your inner compass sounds like the perfect remedy for those moments when you’re stuck in ‘what now?’ mode. Plus, it’s like having a secret superpower—except instead of flying or invisibility, it helps you avoid missteps and bad life choices. Time to embrace that inner GPS and let it lead!
